By using Finance Buddy ("the app"), operated by Buddy Labs Inc. ("we", "us"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
Finance Buddy is an educational personal-finance and ETF-research application. It helps you build a tax-aware ETF portfolio plan, track your budget, manage debt strategies, and monitor your net worth across Canadian and US registered accounts (TFSA, RRSP, FHSA, RESP, Roth IRA, Traditional IRA, 401(k), HSA, etc.).
Finance Buddy is not a registered investment advisor, broker, or financial planner. We do not execute trades, hold client assets, or provide personalized investment advice. All recommendations are educational suggestions only. Consult a licensed professional before making investment decisions.
You must be 18 years or older to create an account. By using the app you confirm you meet this age requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into these terms in your jurisdiction.
You may use the app in local-only mode without an account. If you create an account, you are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure. We use email magic-links (one-time codes) and Google OAuth for sign-in; we never store passwords.
Finance Buddy is free to use. An optional Pro subscription unlocks additional features (unlimited AI rebuilds, advanced analytics, broker auto-connect, family plans, premium themes). Pro billing is handled exclusively through Apple App Store In-App Purchase or Google Play Billing — Finance Buddy never charges your payment method directly. Refunds, cancellations, and billing disputes are handled by Apple or Google per their respective storefront policies.

Past performance shown in projections does not guarantee future results. You are solely responsible for your investment decisions.
Finance Buddy integrates with optional third-party services including Supabase (database hosting), Anthropic Claude (AI), SnapTrade (broker connections), Yahoo Finance (market data), RevenueCat (subscription management), Apple App Store, Google Play Store, and Sentry (error tracking). Your use of those services is governed by their respective terms.
How we collect, use, and protect your data is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
The app is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any defects will be corrected.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Buddy Labs Inc. shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or use, arising out of or related to your use of the app. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or fifty Canadian dollars (CAD $50) if you paid us nothing.
You may stop using the app at any time. You can delete your account from in-app Settings → Account → Delete Account. We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these terms, with reasonable notice except where prohibited by law or where immediate termination is necessary to protect the service or other users.
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be surfaced in-app and via email (if you have an account). Continued use after notice constitutes acceptance.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, and applicable federal laws of Canada, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts located in Toronto, Ontario, except where mandatory consumer-protection laws require otherwise.
